Sean Hill
Sean Hill is a Taranaki-based multidisciplinary artist of Samoan heritage, whose creative journey began at a young age with a fascination for design and objects. After graduating in Visual Arts, his practice has focused on conceptual thinking, blending textures, and using materials like refurbished pallet wood and off-cuts to create unique art. Known for his experience in large public murals, Sean also brings a detailed, precise style to contemporary galleries, often showcasing the temporary nature of murals influenced by his graffiti background.
Recently, his work has expanded into three-dimensional sculptures, translating the abstract shapes and vibrant colors of his paintings into tactile, interactive forms. Sean’s art explores themes of frequency, vibration, energy, and the transformation of colors, inviting the audience to engage with his pieces physically and emotionally. His creations reflect a deep interest in sequences, formations, and dimensions, offering a dynamic, immersive experience for viewers.
