Shelley Flower
Shelley Flower is one of 12 artist exhibiting in the exhibition 'Moa Freeze.' Shelley states "This painting signifies a pivotal phase in my life, marking the transition from Auckland to South Waikato. Previously engaged in a demanding and stressful occupation, I opted to shift from full-time employment in Auckland to pursue a more gratifying lifestyle in South Waikato. In this new setting, I am able to allocate time to my passions for art and gardening, fostering a profound connection with the land and experiencing a considerable sense of tranquillity. The painting depicts Mount Ruapehu surrounded by the undulating landscape with native and pine forests characteristic of the region, with the Waikato River prominently featured in the foreground. Additionally, it includes poplar trees that are renowned in the area where I currently reside."
