Heki Choi
Heki Choi born in Korea and has spent just as much time there as she has in New Zealand where she lives now. In 2007, Heki moved to Havelock North, where she was drawn to the nature, people, and environment. Spending many here there she then moved to Auckland in 2013 and obtained her permanent residency.
Since 2017, I have been actively engaged in photography. Alongside photography, I also enjoy painting and sewing, and I take pleasure in participating in various exhibitions as part of my artistic journey. Currently, I am an active member of APS and PSNZ.
"Te Mata Peak as my favorite place. My life in Havelock North, New Zealand, which began in 2007, was a major turning point for me. I met many wonderful people who cared for me like family, and in that clear and peaceful place, I was able to dream of a bright future. Te Mata Peak is like my hometown, a place that has always given me strength, whether in times of sadness or joy, and where I could open my heart. Even after moving to Auckland, I have always missed it, and I want to showcase its beauty in this exhibition - Moa Freeze."
